Junior Rugby League

Our Juniors have been the cornerstone of the Hills Bulls Club since our inception in 1963. Over that time hundreds of players have gone through our ranks learning the fundamentals of our great game and making life-long friendships. Some of our players have represented at junior levels through Harold Mathews Cup, SG Ball and Jersey Flegg Cup as well as playing for a host of NRL clubs. We have been fortunate to have players who have gone on to represent at the highest levels of rugby league including State of Origin and some have become Kangaroos. Some of these players include Ron Hilditch, John Kolc, Geoff Gerard, David ‘Wolfman’ Williams, Jamie Buhrer, Heath L’Estrange, Luke Keary, Pauli Pauli, Ava Seumanufagai and Blake Green.

We have come a long way and in 2017 we can boast 650 players across a total of 42 teams. This year we have a number of players continuing the tradition of gaining representative honours with eight players representing Harold Mathews Cup, and four representing SG Ball. We congratulate Josh Curran who was selected to represent NSW Under 18’s, was selected as an Australian Schoolboy as well as landing a position in the Sydney Roosters Holden Cup side.

Educating our players to be the best they can be is important to the Club. Our investment in our coaches and managers is critical to the continuous improvement of our boys and girls. We thank everyone who takes on these key roles and who give up their time each and every week. The Hills Bulls introduced a number of initiatives in 2016 to assist in the development of our players and to encourage new players to rugby league. The Bulls Academy is designed to assist Under 12 and Under 13 years players in their development over the off season. We have also introduced the Mini Bulls clinic which is a program for the little ones to start their football careers in the best possible way and is a great way to learn the basics of rugby league.

Our philosophy of Club – Team – Player is at the heart of our culture and is instilled in all our players to build one Club philosophy across our community. Above all, the Hills Bulls encourages everyone from players to officials and supporters to have fun and enjoy each week with our teammates, family and friends. Have a great season!
